March 31, 1988 - MPR’s Kate Moos interviews AIDS Jacqui Banaszynski about her work “Aids in the Heartland,” which won her the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing. Banaszynski and her photographer, Jean Pieri followed two gay Minnesota farmers - Dick Hanson and his partner, Bert Henningson - one of whom had contracted AIDS.

January 30, 1989 - Patricia Schroeder, a Colorado congresswoman, speaks at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota as part of Carleton Lecture series. Schroeder addressed the need for reducing the deficit, spending more of our money on education, day care, and health coverage…and less on military projects. After speech, Loeb answered audience questions, including voter turnout being low because of registering difficulty, the last presidential election, legalizing drugs, Roe vs. Wade, Jack Kemp, and reelection of congressional incumbents.

February 27, 1989 - Joe Piscatella, author of "Choices for a Healthy Heart" and "Don't Eat Your Heart Out Cookbook", discusses his books and health issues of American habits. Piscatella also answers listener questions about low fat, low sodium cooking and eating.
