July 4, 2001 - A day before Independence Day, a record 15,000 soccer fans turned out at the National Sports Center to wave Old Glory and cheer the U.S. national women's team in its 1-0 victory over Canada in a holiday exhibition match. MPR’s William Wilcoxen captures the day.
June 7, 2002 - MPR’s Laurel Druley reports on two Minnesota teams competing in the 2002 National Women's Division One Rugby Championship, being held in Rochester, Minnesota. Six other teams from across the country are also competing in what is Rochester’s first time hosting a national tournament.

May 7, 2005 - MPR’s Dan Olson interviews Ric Jost, a disabled veteran who is competing in the 2005 National Veterans Wheelchair Games held in Minnesota. Jost shares how the games help build the self-confidence to cope with his disability. The event is the 25th National Veterans Wheelchair Games, but the first held in Minnesota.
