November 9, 2007 - Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher says an inmate who died at the Ramsey County Jail received inadequate medical attention. Forty-six-year-old Randy Gallmeyer died of untreated diabetes last month after he was found passed out in his cell. Fletcher says an internal investigation shows that man was not offered testing of his blood sugar levels during a time when testing should have been offered twice.

City officials say the shooting has drastically changed the lives of both men and hope the settlement will bring closure to the incident.

December 3, 2007 - Five African American police officers with the Minneapolis police department are suing the department and Chief Tim Dolan for race discrimination. The 37-page complaint was filed this morning in federal district court. The complaint alleges that the department has a history of discrimination against black officers and that the situation has gotten worse under Dolan. The officers are being represented by attorneys Andrew Muller and John Klassen. Klassen says all of the officers are decorated, and have served in the department for at least 18 years.
