March 9, 1978 - Angela Davis, black activist and professor of women's studies at San Francisco State College, speaking at Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota. Davis’s address is titled "The Sixties: A Revolution."
March 13, 1978 - Comedian and social activist Dick Gregory speaking at Concordia College. Gregory discusses an array of topics, including politics, education, racism, religion, and energy issues.
March 17, 1978 - This bill prohibits the Minnesota County Welfare boards from paying for abortions except to prevent the death of the mother, or if the pregnancy is the result of rape in which case it must be reported within 48 hours, or if the pregnancy is the result of incest in which case the incident and relative must be reported to the police for investigation prior to the abortion. Normal child birth is given preference over abortion. Passed the House 107-27.
March 18, 1978 - On this regional public affairs program, guests Ray Arveson, superintendent of Schools for Minneapolis; and W. Harry Davis, Minneapolis school board member, examine the school district's desegregation plan. Topics include compliance of Judge Larson order, magnet programs, and interests of minority groups.
March 30, 1978 - Bob Kunst, national gay activist and co-author of the Dade County, Florida gay rights amendment (which was repealed), urges St. Paul voters not to repeal the gay rights ordinance. In his comments, he also criticizes gay rights opponents.
April 1, 1978 - Minnesota Public Radio Capitol reporters Bob Potter and Jan Falstad produced this summary of the highlights of the 1978 Minnesota Legislature session. The 1978 legislative session was marked by its relative brevity, a greater-than-expected level of spending, and the intense fight over the abortion funding and family planning bills. There was also a host of minor bills to occupy legislators' time and attention.
April 20, 1978 - Report on three different St. Paul rallies, pro and con, regarding the vote to repeal the gay rights ordinance. MPR's Pat Kessler, Kate Williams, and Dan Olson were at the events and provide excerpts from the activity, including speeches and interviews of attendees.

April 25, 1978 - MPR’s Pat Kessler reports on vote results on repeal of St. Paul’s 1974 gay rights ordinance. St. Paul voters chose to repeal of the city's provisions protecting gays and lesbians from discrimination by a two-to-one margin.
