Arthur Hoehn, MPR's first classical music announcer, joins Midday to discuss his 40-year career in radio. He is best known for hosting "Music Through the Night."
His 40-year career in broadcasting began at KSJU, KWFM, KFAM, WAYL and WLOL in Minnesota; then in 1966, he worked with Bob Smith (aka Wolfman Jack) at XERB in Mexico. In 1967, he became classical music announcer at KSJR, the flagship station of what would become Minnesota Public Radio. He also hosted broadcasts of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and other college music performances.
Hoehn is inducted into the Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 9, 2010.
