MPR’s Gary Eichten present report on an untraditional Veteran's Day celebration address by St. Paul Mayor Larry Cohen, comments from Reverend Russell Krambeck, and protest demonstration in Twin Cities.
Mayor Cohen states that politics in Washington are really messed up, with money going to South East Asia, but funding not going to schools and veterans. Put simply, too much is being spent on defense. Following Cohen’s speech, the Reverend Russell Krambeck states that stopping war is important, but not the most important goal. The most important thing we must do is preserve our American heritage.
Segment ends with MPR’s Greg Barron report on Amnesty group, Winter Soldier Organization (WSO), and their demonstration that protests war and states that there are other ways to deal with conflict.
