September 24, 1998 - Northwest Airlines CEO John Dasburg said today the airline is negotiating in good faith with its unions and he said he's confident once the remaining contracts are settled, Northwest will be able to restore award winning customer service. Dasburg spoke before members of the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, but outside union representatives were skeptical.

September 14, 1998 - Northwest Airlines is asking all of its employees to redouble efforts to improve customer service now that the pilots strike is over. On Saturday leaders of the six thousand members pilots union approved a contract agreement ending their 15 day strike. The deal the pilots signed will likely set the bar for negotiations with Northwest's five other unions.

September 3, 1998 - Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson today joined a several governors from across the upper midwest in calling on President Clinton to force striking Northwest pilots back to work. Carlson says as the strike, now in its sixth day, drags on the economy is taking a hit. Carlson says doesn't look as though the two sides will be able to resolve the matter without intervention.
