April 6, 1998 - BUILDING INSPECTORS ARE CANVASSING ST. PETER ASSESSING DAMAGE TO HOMES AND BUSINESSES. THE INSPECTORS ARE LOOKING FOR ANYTHING THAT POSES A THREAT TO PEOPLE AFTER THE TORNADO. AFTER CHECKING FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, INSPECTORS POST A PAPER TAG ON THE FRONT OF EACH BUILDING. A GREEN TAG GIVES THE "ALL CLEAR" TO THE BUILDING'S OCCUPANTS. March 26, 1998 - A Ramsey County judge is considering whether to order the Minnesota Twins and major league baseball to submit over 30 years of documents to Attorney General Skip Humphrey. Humphrey's office is investigating whether a threatened move of the Minnesota Twins to North Carolina violates federal anti-trust laws. March 3, 1998 - Fewer and fewer people are attending caucuses in Minnesota each election season. Minnesota is one of the few states that still has a caucus system. Minnesota Public Radio's Lynnette Nyman talked to passersby in downtown St. Peter last week and found most of them don't care.
February 9, 1998 - A committee of the Minnesota House today considers spending a half million dollars to restore the Herman monument in New Ulm. To some, it's only a statue, but to others, "Herman the German" is a favorite son. Minnesota Public Radio's Lynette Nyman reports.
January 29, 1998 - Dave Moore, one of Minnesota's best known television news anchors, has died. Moore, who spent nearly his entire career at WCCO-TV in his hometown of Minneapolis, had heart surgery last year and had been seriously ill for six months. Moore's friends and former colleagues say he lasted a long time in TV news because of his credibility with viewers. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Olson prepared this report.
