July 29, 1996 - Minnesota's two U.S. Senators firmly anchor the far right and left of the political spectrum. Liberal Paul Wellstone and conservative Rod Grams disagree on almost everything. More often than not, they cancel out each other's votes. Wellstone's first term is ending, and he's fighting to keep his senate seat. Grams is about a third of the way through his first term.
