September 13, 2007 - Minnesota Twins General Manager Terry Ryan announced he's stepping down from his key front office post. He will be replaced by assistant GM Bill Smith at the end of this season. Smith now faces the task of negotiating the contracts of some of the Twins highest profile players.
September 14, 2007 - The Minnesota Department of Tourism reports that birch and aspen trees in the northeastern part of the state are starting to show their fall colors. The north shore is known as a particularly pretty part of Minnesota this time of year, but commentator Peter Smith says for even better scenery, you need to cross the state line.

September 20, 2007 - Excerpt of U.S. Senator Norm Coleman speaking at Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works hearing regarding 35W bridge collapse. Both of Minnesota's U.S. Senators took part in a hearing on Capitol Hill today to urge quick action on bridges in need of repair or replacement. Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat Amy Klobuchar testified before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. The oversight hearing was called in the wake of the collapse of the 35W bridge in Minneapolis. Coleman says he and Michigan Democrat Carl Levin, have asked the non-partisan Government Accountability Office to do a review of the national bridge program.

September 24, 2007 - If you've ever walked along the North Shore of Lake Superior, you might have wondered how the rugged scenery came to be. A geologist and a naturalist have teamed up to write a guidebook for hikers in the eight state parks along the North Shore. Minnesota Public Radio's Stephanie Hemphill visited Gooseberry Falls State Park with one of the book's authors.
