February 19, 2001 - Mainstreet Radio’s Mark Steil interviews American composer Maria Schneider, who has been nominated for her jazz orchestral album "Allegresse." Scheinder grew up in Windom in the southwest part of the state. She reflects on how she first got into music.
February 19, 2001 - MPR's Andrew Haeg reports on a bill that would limit the governor and other constitutional officers from receiving money for outside work has passed its first major test. The House Governmental Operations Committee approved the bill, and will soon send it to a vote by the full House.
February 20, 2001 - Governor Ventura's press office issued Capitol reporters new credentials today. Reporters already have security passes for the House, Senate and Capitol, but this is the first time the Governor has required a separate credential for covering his activities. The front of each pass declares the wearer an "official jackal." The back reads "the Governor's office reserves the right to revoke this credential for any reason." The Governor's spokesperson, John Wodele, says the credentials are a necessity:
February 20, 2001 - MPR’s Lorna Benson interviews Bo Thao, who proposed a new oral history project documenting the lives of Hmong women in the Twin Cities. Thao says she hopes the stories will empower younger women with the knowledge that Hmong women have always been leaders in their communities, especially in times of war.
February 23, 2001 - LaVelle Neal, who covers spring training of the Minnesota Twins for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, gives his hopeful appraisal of the team. The Twins' front office has been busy signing their best young players, which has the team thinking about reaching the .500 mark this year.
February 26, 2001 - All Things Considered’s Lorna Benson talks with Bruce Coppock, managing director of the SPCO, about conductor Bobby McFerrin leaving The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. McFerrin took the SPCO job in 1994, signing on for a two year contract after visiting the orchestra to conduct. Those two years turned into seven, and now McFerrin's ready to pursue other projects.

February 28, 2001 - MPR’s Laura McCallum reports that state officials released the latest revenue forecast, which for the first time in nine years shows a drop in projected revenues from the previous forecast. Minnesota lawmakers will have about 600-million dollars less than expected for tax cuts and spending increases over the next two years.
February 28, 2001 - Music producer T. Bone Burnett joins Gary Eichten from Los Angeles to talk about his latest movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and his life in the music world. On the program, T. Bone mentioned three artists to check out if you like the soundtrack from "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" They are Elizabeth Cotton, Skip James, and Washington Phillips.
