Bill Catlin reports on Minnesota Public Radio’s announcement of its third service in the twin cities launching the following Monday on January 24th, 2005. The new service is named 89.3 The Current and programming will feature a broad range of popular music in an effort to attract a younger audience to MPR. The Current will be broadcast on the frequency of the former WCAL, which MPR bought from St. Olaf College last November, along with a sister station in Rochester.
