Audio from tape recording of hearing about Wounded Knee disarmament process. AIM and government dispute about when disarmament agreement would be signed, before or after the meeting. Once signing took place, next step would be a preliminary meeting with the White House and about how and how to implement dispossession of arms. Speaker questions how to resolve the arms situation. Speaker is possibly Richard Helstern, Deputy Assistant Attorney General.
SPEAKER 1: I wasn't sure whether the actual signing was to go on simultaneous with the meeting or whether it would be a signed agreement that we would immediately move to the preliminary meeting and enter the discussions on how to implement the dispossession of arms later on.
SPEAKER 2: We found it again.
SPEAKER 1: --we contemplate a signed agreement across everyone there. And then the next immediate step is the preliminary meeting with the White House and then the discussions between Colbren and your people on how we're going to resolve the arms situation. We're on the same wavelength now? OK, fine.
SPEAKER 2: That was cleared up yesterday.
SPEAKER 4: Yeah. How are we going to handle 0.2 now?
