January 21, 2003 - Northwest, Delta and Continental Airlines announced plans today to go ahead with a marketing alliance Department of Transportation objections. The D-O-T is launching an enforcment action against the plan. Also today, Northwest posted fourth quarter 2002 losses approaching a half a billion dollars, brining the the airline's 2002 losses to nearly $800 million dollars. January 7, 2003 - Senator-elect Norm Coleman will be sworn-in later today in a ceremony in Washington, D.C.. Coleman, a Republican, takes the seat held by the late Democratic Senator Paul Wellstone who was killed in a plane crash just eleven days before the November election. Coleman went on to defeat Wellstone's replacement on the ballot Vice President Walter Mondale. As Senator, Coleman will be part of a new... and narrow... Republican majority in the U.S. Senate.

October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Mark Zdechlik reports on the Minnesota DFL's Central Committee, as it convenes a special meeting this evening where hundreds of DFL activists are expected to name former Vice President Walter Mondale as the party's new US Senate candidate. The meeting will take place at the Historic State Theater in downtown Minneapolis.
October 28, 2002 - Minnesota Democrats are furious state Republican leaders today (Mon) issued a challenge for debates between Senator Paul Wellstone's replacement on next week's ballot and Republican Senate candidate Norm Coleman. Democrats are accusing Republicans of disrespect for issuing the challenge on the day Wellstone was buried in a private ceremony. October 23, 2002 - Supporters of Paul Wellstone and Norm Coleman are complaining about the latest aids independent groups are airing in the race. DFLer Wellstone's campaign is calling on a Washington D.C.-area trade group to stop airing television ads which criticize the senator. DFL Senator Paul Wellstone, Republican Norm Coleman, Independence Party candidate Jim moore and Ray Tricomo from the Green Party talked about business and economic issues at a forum in St. Cloud sponsored by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
