December 21, 1999 - Belle Plaine motorcycle manufacturer Excelsior Henderson plans to file today for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from its creditors. The company has ceased operations and layed off nearly all of its staff. Its creditors include Minnesota taxpayers.
December 1, 1999 - Canterbury Park executives today unveiled plans for card game gambling today at a meeting of the Minnesota Racing Commission. State lawmakers cleared the way for the so-called "card club" during their last session, which ended in May.

November 3, 1999 - Now that St. Paul voters have rejected a stadium tax to lure the Minnesota Twins to the Capitol city, attention in the stadium debate is shifting back to Minneapolis . Community leaders there say the time has come for them to find a solution that will satisfy the Twins' and the Vikings' needs. But they also say a firm proposal may not come forward until the 2001 legislative session.
October 26, 1999 - Sara Olson is appealing for help with her legal expenses. Olson is accused of planting pipe bombs under Los Angele Police cars as a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army more than 20 years ago. Flanked by her supporters, Olson called the charges against her a witch hunt and she said she can't afford to defend herself.
October 26, 1999 - Los Angeles County Prosecutors plan to call Patty Heart Shaw as a witness in their pipe bombing conspiracy case against Sara Jane Olson, formerly Kathleen Soliah. The trial of the alleged former Symbionese Liberation Army Terrorist is set to begin in January. Olson's attorneys say she does NOT have enough money to pay for her defense. Today in Minneapolis Olson supporters are planning a news conference to talk about the case against her and her legal defense fund.
September 30, 1999 - Sun Country Airlines and the Metropolitan Airports Commission are planning a ground breaking ceremony for a new terminal at the Minneapolis St. Paul Airport today. The facility will replace the Humphrey Charter Terminal. Airport officials say the additional gate space will help them attract more airlines to Minneapolis -St. Paul.
September 21, 1999 - Northwest Airlines says it plans to cut back on flights around New Year's eve NOT because it fears Y2K computer problems but because of decreased demand for travel. Today at the Minneapolis St.Paul International Airport officials with the industry association that represents major airlines held a news conference in hopes of assuring travelers it'll be safe to fly in the New Year.
September 15, 1999 - The downtown St. Paul-based insurance giant the St. Paul Companies this afternoon announced it will be cutting significantly fewer jobs from the ranks of its corporate headquarters staff than it had anticipated.
