September 21, 2001 - Northwest Airlines employees are bracing for news of massive layoffs, as the company copes with the aftermath of last week's terror attacks in New York and Washington. Officials from the airline met separately with the leaders of Northwest's four main unions. The company is expected to announce it's laying off as many as 10 thousand employees later this morning.
