December 1, 1998 - (Saint Paul) Governor Arne Carlson presented a plan to spend another 51-million dollars on THREE "quality of life" initiatives. Minnesota Public Radio's Karen Louise Boothe reports: Governor Carlson's proposal calls for aid for homeless children, more funding for the ARTS and money to clean up and maintain Minnesota LAKES. Carlson says about 25-hundred children are homeless in Minnesota on any given night. November 9, 1998 - (Saint Paul) Governor-Elect Jesse Ventura has named a transition chief for his administration. Steven Bosacker (bow-sacker) is the executive director of the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota--and will lead Ventura's strategic planning. Even with the support the endorsement brings, Mike Freeman couldn't beat Skip Humphrey. But he wasn't the only party endorsee to lose yesterday. Attorney General candidate Ember Reichgott Junge also finished a distant third in her race. In fact, only 2 of 6 endorsed candidates for statewide office prevailed yesterday.
