April 25, 2012 - The Guthrie's 2012 -13 season features 12-productions on its two larger stages. All are written by white men, and only one show will have a female director, staging the production as a co-director. And, as some of Minnesota's arts leaders continue to react to the decisions of the region's largest theater organization, we wanted to get reaction from the Guthrie's artistic director himself. Joe Dowling joins MPR news from Dublin, where he's traveling. He said scheduling any theater season requires balancing a lot of interests.

February 23, 1999 - The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis has announced its 1999-2000 season. While it maintains the Guthrie's devotion to the classics, it also feature new works, including a musical that wowed critics in London and another collaboration with St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre.
May 21, 1998 - Andrew Latham of Macalester College, and Joe Dowling, Artistic Director of the Guthrie Theater and a native of Ireland, discuss the upcoming Northern Ireland peace accord vote, known as the “Good Friday” agreement. Lathan and Dowling also answer listener questions.
May 14, 1997 - For the first time in it's 20-year history, St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre Company will perform August Wilson’s “Fences” on the stage of the region's best known theater, the Guthrie, in Minneapolis.
