October 24, 2000 - Governor Jesse Ventura has completed the first official day of his 6-day trade mission to Mexico. Ventura met outgoing Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo at the Mexican Presidential Palace and Later gave a speech to the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City. He and many Minnesota company representatives who've joined him on the trip finished off the evening at a reception at the residence of the ambassador to the United States. Minnesota Public Radio's Andrew Haeg is travelling with Ventura, and has this report.

October 23, 2000 - Governor Ventura embarks today on the first full day of his Mexican trade mission. His visit comes at a momentous time in the country's history. For the first time in 71 years, the dominant political party will hand over power to an opposition leader. Later today Ventura will go to Mexico's presidential palace to meet the outgoing president, Ernesto Zedillo. Ventura says he sees parallels in Mexican politics with his own rise to power. Minnesota Public Radio's Andrew Haeg who's travelling with the governor has reports.
October 23, 2000 - The Minnesota Vikings came from behind once again yesterday to defeat the Buffalo Bills 31-27 at the Metrodome. Randy Moss made an amazing catch at the back of the end zone to give the Vikings the lead with less than four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Kicker Gary Anderson added a field goal which gave him more points than any player in NFL history. The Vikings are now seven and oh and are the only undefeated team in the National Football League. The metro area's 430 ramp meter lights were turned off so the state could find out what traffic would be like without them. Recent polls show Bush has gained ground here in Minnesota after his performance in the debates, and state campaign leaders are gearing up for a tight race. Tony Sutton is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Republican Party, and Buck Humphrey is the State Director of the Minnesota Gore-Liberman 2000 campaign. Both speak with MPR News.
October 18, 2000 - Reform Party presidential candidate Pat Buchanan is in Minnesota today. He is scheduled to speak at the University of Minnesota Law School this afternoon and will make some media appearances. Buchanan has run for president in previous elections as a Republican. He moved to the Reform Party last October, and won the presidential nomination after a fight between two party factions. He speaks with MPR News.
