December 10, 2007 - Decorah, Iowa is a town less than 20 miles from the Minnesota border. It is the home of Luther College and the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, which is the largest museum in the country devoted to a single immigrant ethnic group. With the Iowa caucus less than a month away, Cathy Wurzer looks into the history of this small Mid-western town.
September 14, 2007 - The Minnesota Department of Tourism reports that birch and aspen trees in the northeastern part of the state are starting to show their fall colors. The north shore is known as a particularly pretty part of Minnesota this time of year, but commentator Peter Smith says for even better scenery, you need to cross the state line.
August 15, 2007 - Keith Langseth, DFL senator, is chairman of the committee that approves various state building projects. He says he's concerned about how fast this process is moving. Republican representative Mary Liz Holberg comments. They will be at joint House/Senate hearing today on the 35w bridge collapse.
August 15, 2007 - State lawmakers will weigh in today on the proposed design for a new 35w bridge. That design, released yesterday, calls for ten lanes for traffic. That's one more in each direction but right now, it doesn't include room for a future light rail line. At today's hearing before a joint session of the House and Senate transportation committees, lawmakers will hear from leaders at MnDOT and the Metropolitan Council. But Republican state representative Mary Liz Holberg says she was hoping to also hear from Minneapolis city officials.

August 3, 2007 - Citizen journalists cover bridge collapse. The Minnesotans who documented Wednesday's collapse of the I-35W bridge proved again, just as in the aftermath of the London underground bombing and other disasters, that journalism can be an activity as much as it is a profession.
May 22, 2007 - The Minnesota History Center in St. Paul holds a reception tonight to celebrate a new exhibit and book featuring photographs of Ojibwe people in Minnesota. The author of "We Are at Home: Pictures of Ojibwe People" is historian Bruce White. His book explains that to truly understand a photo you need to know who took it and why. I asked White to select some of his favorite pictures from the book for us to talk about. The first one he chose was taken around 1900 in Grand Portage. It shows a woman in front of a tipi with a baby on her back.
