April 11, 2003 - Minnesota is in the running to attract a new... highly sought after, biotech company from Cleveland, Ohio. The C-E-O of Athersys (ATH-er-sis) says the company needs up to 75 million dollars in financing to stay in Cleveland. Officials there are reluctant to promise so much money. The attempt to lure Athersys (ATH-er-sis) to Minnesota is the subject of an article in this week's edition of The Business Journal. Mark Reilly, who wrote the article, says Athersys has great potential.
April 10, 2003 - It's a big day for hockey fans in Minnesota as the Minnesota Wild plays its first playoff game in franchise history... and the men's Gopher hockey team competes in college hockey's Frozen Four. The Gophers are the defending N-C-double-A champions and play the Michigan Wolverines in Buffalo, New York late this afternoon. At about the time that game is ending, fans can switch over and watch the Wild... who are in Denver to play the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Doug Johnson is publisher of "Let's Play Hockey." He says this Wild team deserves to be in the playoffs.

World Health Organization officials believe the disease started in China... and so far about 11-hundred cases are known worldwide. March 13, 2003 - A showdown is coming up in the U.S. Senate over whether to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Senate Republicans say they need just one more vote to pass a provision that would allow drilling in the Alaska refuge. That puts the pressure on lawmakers like Republican Senator Norm Coleman. Coleman says he came to the debate opposing drilling.
March 12, 2003 - A Minneapolis public library board committee may approve a plan to close four branch libraries later today. The move will help the board move closer towards a goal of shaving million dollars from the library budget this year.
