March 14, 2003 - Dozens of college curling teams will be in the Twin Cities this weekend. They'll be playing for the national college curling championship. Curling clubs say they've had more young people try the sport since last year's Olympics. But curling doesn't have the same natural youth-appeal as football or basketball or snowboarding. So curling clubs make a point of bringing the game to kids. Chris Julin has this Mainstreet Radio report.

Some people put sticky notes on the fridge to remind them of their pledges. Some people use their palm pilots. And other people actually hire someone to help them stay on track -- a "life coach." January 15, 2003 - People in Grand Rapids are wondering what will happen to their town with the sudden lay-off of 300 workers at the Blandin Paper plant last week. Governor Tim Pawlenty went to Grand Rapids yesterday to talk with workers and company representatives. And he held a community meeting. Minnesota Public Radio's Chris Julin has this report.
October 28, 2002 - Investigators have more clues about the plane crash that killed Paul and Shiela Wellstone, and six other people. But the cause of the crash is still a mystery. Some investigators are already heading back to Washington D-C with information they collected at the crash site. But they say they won't have any answers for a long time. August 1, 2002 - Yulia Lyagina is hoping to get a job in Moscow with her new degree in psychology. But she's in Minnesota for the summer. She works the front desk at a resort on Lake Superior. Hundreds of thousands of foreign college students come to the United States each summer to work at hotels and restaurants and summer camps. It's hard to know exactly how many are in Minnesota -- but it's a lot. Two-hundred work at Valley Fair amusement park, alone. The students make more money than they could at home.
