November 10, 2000 - IT'S POSSIBLE THAT GEORGE W BUSH COULD BECOME THE FOURTH MAN IN U.S HISTORY TO LOSE THE POPULAR VOTE, BUT WIN THE PRESIDENCY. THAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE RECOUNT IN FLORIDA IS DETERMINED TO GO HIS WAY. THE ELECTORAL VOTES WON'T ACTUALLY BE CAST UNTIL DECEMBER 18TH. ON THAT DATE, MINNESOTA'S ELECTORS WILL GO TO THE STATE CAPITOL TO SUBMIT THEIR BALLOTS. THE ELECTORS ARE FOLKS WHO ARE CHOSEN FOR THE JOB BY THE WINNING CANDIDATE'S POLITICAL PARTY. TIHS YEAR, ALL TEN OF MINNESOTA'S ELECTORS ARE DEMOCRATS. MATT LITTLE IS ONE OF THEM. MR. LITTLE IS THE FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE MINNEAPOLIS NAACP AND IS ACTIVE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
November 6, 2000 - A once tight election now shows that Al Gore is in the lead for the president, Mark Dayton in the head for senate.
October 27, 2000 - The owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves is apologizing to basketball fans across the state. Earlier this week, the Wolves were heavily fined by the NBA, lost five first round draft picks, and the contract of player, Joe Smith, was voided. The penalties come after the Wolves made a secret deal with smith, in order to get around the NBA's salary cap. Last night at the Timberwolves game owner Glen Taylor talked with reporters.
October 24, 2000 - The long awaited decision on NCAA sanctions against the University of Minnesota men's basketball program has been made. The NCAA Committee on Infractions has put the basketball program on four years probation for the academic cheating scandal that involved several players. In addition, the university will lose several scholarships and the school's 1997 final four appearance and its 1998 NIT championship will be erased from the record books. The team will be allowed to participate in post season play. Jim Dutcher is a former Gopher men's basketball coach who was hired after a previous scandal. He says the ruling was predictable.
October 20, 2000 - A large brush fire continues to burn, out of control, just north of the Twin Cities, around the Stacy area. Four to five thousand acres have already burned and crews are preparing to send up six planes that will begin dropping water on this fire. Up to 15-hundred residents in Stacy were evacuated late last night, as the fire began spreading toward the small town, just off of I-35.
October 19, 2000 - From Bob Dylan, to Prince, to the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota has a long and varied musical tradition. An exhibit opening this weekend at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul takes a look at that tradition.
October 9, 2000 - Twin Cities Marathon took place on October 8th. Two Russians won races. MPR's Tom Scheck ran the marathon and he discusses his experience.

September 28, 2000 - The odor of a Saint Paul brewery is becoming too much to handle. Mayor Norm Coleman discusses his plans to get rid of the odor.
September 21, 2000 - Two hundred and fiftey people from across the country are in Minneapolis this week talking about the work of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright fans, ranging from historic preservationists to scholars, are attending the annual conference of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy. Conference participants are discussing how to preserve Wright's buildings, right down to proper remodeling of bathrooms in vintage Wright homes. One of those homes is in Minneapolis, known as the Willey House. It's now empty, and in need of repair. Lynda Waggoner, the head of the Wright conservancy, says the house marks a transition period between Wright's early and later styles.
