October 3, 2007 - Elaine Pagels won a National Book Award for "The Gnostic Gospels," an analysis of early Christian manuscripts that were unearthed in Egypt. She is professor of religion at Princeton University, and speaks at the Westminster Town Hall Forum. Her New York Times bestseller, "Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas" (2003), focuses on claims to ultimate truth.

The two-time Pulitzer Prize winner talked about his long career in American letters in January at an event sponsored by the New York Times. She called for supporters of other Democratic presidential candidates to get behind Barack Obama in his run for presidency, whom she endorsed several months ago.

August 6, 2008 - MPR’s Mark Steil reports on The Farmfest Congressional Forum near Redwood Falls. Two incumbents were there, Democrats Collin Peterson and Tim Walz; as well as a number of challengers from several congressional races around the state. During the forum at the annual agricultural show, the candidates spent most of their time on the federal farm program and the nation's energy policy.
