November 23, 1974 - Rick Carlson, author and former researcher for Interstudy (a Minneapolis medical consultant firm), speaking on whether medical care has anything to do with health. Carlson spoke before the State Senate Subcommittee on Rising Health Costs.
November 27, 1974 - The “future of public television” was the discussion for a conference held at Spring Hill Conference Center in Wayzata, Minnesota. Three highlighted speakers were Henry Loomis, Chairman of the Board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Ralph Rogers, Board Chairman of PBS; and Glen Robinson, former University of Minnesota Law Professor, now with the FCC.
December 5, 1974 - In mid-November there was a unique program offered to the public by the University of Minnesota office of student affairs and the fund for suicide studies. A full day of lectures, panels, and films surveyed the problem of suicide among young adults and the campus population. Connie Goldman attended and prepared this midday program. January 7, 1975 - As part of a daylong conference sponsored by the University of Minnesota entitled, "China and the World Community", various panelists discuss China's role in the world from her own perspective as well as how other nations view China. Michel Oksenberg, an associate professor of political science at the University of Michigan, gave a speech titled "China and the Model for Developing Nations."

January 20, 1975 - MPR’s Kevin McKiernan reports on continued occupation of the Gresham novitiate, which is in it’s in twentieth day. Issues and demands of Indians inside are starting to escalate. At this point 350 National Guardsmen surround the abbey, and tensions remain high.
