September 8, 1994 - Midday presents a look back at deceased Minnesota writer Fredrick Manfred and his work. Program includes a 1980 interview with the author.
September 20, 1994 - Minnesota boater and author Marlin Bree reads of his experience on the waters of Lake Superior with his sail boat, the Persistence, during a violent northeaster.
October 27, 1994 - Robert Bly reads poem about men and women.
October 28, 1994 - On this segment of Voices from the Heartland, Minnesota writer Susan Carol Hauser reads an essay on Halloween and the “ghosts” that appear.
November 22, 1994 - MPR's Stephen Smith prepared this documentary, "Song Catcher, Frances Densmore of Red Wing" about Frances Densmore, a Minnesota music teacher who set out to capture disappearing Indian songs. She is said to be a pioneering anthropologist in preserving American Indian music.
December 10, 1994 - MPR presents various readings from a collection of essays written by teenagers about their life experience. Topics include isolation, sexual orientation, race, and despair.
December 15, 1994 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Minneosta poets Diane Glancy and C. W. Truesdale about the book “Two Worlds Walking: Short Stories, Essays, and Poetry by Writers of Mixed Heritages" that they edited. Segment includes Glancy doing short readings.
December 23, 1994 - MPR’s Marlana Benzie-Lourey interviews Duluth poet Louis Jenkins about his book "Nice Fish." Jenkins reads title poem of book.
December 31, 1994 - To close out the year, MPR’s Euan Kerr wonderfully recites "Auld Lang Syne" in brogue.
