April 26, 1990 - MPR’s Gary Eichten interviews Duluth resident and fisherman Russ Francisco about the declined interest of smelting along the North Shore rivers. Francisco explains what he sees and some of the reasons behind drop off.
May 18, 1990 - Dr. Leonard Haynes, U.S. assistant secretary of postsecondary education, speaking at Minnesota Meeting. Haynes’ address was on the topic of educational reform in college athletics. After speech, Haynes answers audience questions. Minnesota Meeting is a non-profit corporation which hosts a wide range of public speakers. It is managed by the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
May 29, 1990 - An MPR special documentary report titled, "Spearing on Lakes of Fire", narrated by Chris Tetlin. The report presents fishing debate over Chippewa Indian/U.S. Government treaty in northern Wisconsin. The controversy centers on walleyes, but there's much more at stake than fish.
June 16, 1990 - Weekend Edition’s sports commentator Jay Weiner, of the Star Tribune, describes a rough situation on-and-off the field for the Minnesota Twins, who have won 2 of the last 13 games. Weiner says while things are bad for the team, it is still not “1982 bad.”
September 21, 1990 - MPR Journal’s Gary Eichten presents interview segments of Andy MacPhail, general manager for the Minnesota Twins, who breaks down what went wrong in the 90-91’ MLB season.
September 24, 1990 - Mainstreet Radio’s Leif Enger profiles the St. Cloud baseball team The Rox, which in 1946 became part of the old Northern League that stretched from Wisconsin to Manitoba. The team dissolved in 1971, but Enger finds many locals still have fond memories.

January 7, 1991 - Former Minnesota Twins owner Calvin Griffith reflects on Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, and life. Griffith also comments on who he thinks should be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

February 5, 1991 - MPR’s Bill Wareham reports on the Minnesota Twins signing of veteran Major League Baseball pitcher Jack Morris. It is a “coming home” of sorts, as he attended Highland Park High School in St. Paul, Minnesota.
