July 8, 1994 - A conversation with Chuck Davis, artistic director of the African American Dance Ensemble and choreographer of Babu's Magic: Dance, Rhythm, Culture - An African Perspective. During interview, Davis speaks of the musical, Geoffrey Holder, and dancing with Olatunji at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
August 20, 1994 - MPR’s Chris Roberts interviews author Neal Karlen about his book, Babes in Toyland: The Making and Selling of a Rock and Roll Band. Karlen discusses his experiences following the band during the creation and reaction of Babes in Toyland’s first album.
August 30, 1994 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Minnesotan artist Ross Sutter, who recollects family memories connected to the Great Hinckley Fire of 1894. Sutter also performs songs written tied to the disaster.
September 2, 1994 - Live from the Minnesota Public Radio State Fair booth, MPR’s Beth Friend hosts a special September edition. Program includes various interviews and performances.
April 26, 1996 - Midday presents Rockin The Boat, a PRI documentary on South Africa's journey from apartheid to democracy. In 1994, South Africa held its first all-race multi-party elections, putting an end to decades of minority rule. This program traces South Africa's path through the apartheid years with the voices of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Johnny Clegg, and more.
November 19, 1996 - Jim Walsh, music critic for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, provides commentary on release of Prince three-disc album Emancipation. The three hours of music contains all new material created over the previous year. It is the first record for artist since he left Warner Brothers music label.
December 23, 1996 - Midday presents a Voices of Minnesota program, highlighting conversations with businessman Fred Myers, who started a St. Paul company that employs chronic alcoholics; and Roberta Davis, one of Minnesota's foremost jazz vocalists.
