August 13, 1979 - Midday presents “The Way to 8-A,” a documentary sound portrait on the involuntary commitment to Hennepin County General Hospital's Ward 8-A, a psychiatric ward. Program looks at the people being committed, those doing the committing, the staff, and the entire process of involuntary commitment.

October 30, 1979 - John M. Bach, a coworker with Reverend Philip Berrigan, speaking as part of the Prisons and Prisoners lecture series at Moorhead State College, held in the fall of 1973. Bach shared views from a prisoner perspective. Bach spent 35 months in seven federal prisons for refusing induction into military service. PLEASE NOTE: Audio contains disturbing language
December 26, 1979 - A Minnesota state lawsuit claims the officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture have illegally enforced the 1978 BWCA Wilderness Act. Environmental activist groups are expected to intervene in the suit if motor restriction is eased in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
March 22, 1980 - Anthony Bouza, Minneapolis police chief, speaking before a Citizens League breakfast in Minneapolis. Bouza talked about first month in office and elaborated some on what he hopes to do in the next few years.
April 23, 1980 - On this segment of People On Books, Neil Meyer reviews Making Fathers Pay by David L. Chambers.
August 16, 1980 - Marvin Mitchelson, a California divorce attorney, speaking at main branch of the Minneapolis Public Library as part of the Minneapolis Public Library's series on justice. Address was titled "Alimony/Palimony: How to Heal a Broken Heart". In speech, Mitchelson criticizes a Minnesota law passed last session dealing with living-together relationships outside of marriage. He accuses the bill's author, Senator Jack Davies, of being a chauvinist. After speech, Mitchelson answers audience questions. Mitchelson who, in the Marvin vs. Marvin case, established that, in a "living together relationship", each member of that couple has definite rights to property. That, even if there is no written agreement between the two parties. The settlements in such cases have come to be called palimony.
