June 8, 1979 - MPR’s Dan Olson interviews Victoria Van Slyke, director of Working Opportunities for Women Program; and by Mary Ann Wurm, A St. Paul resident who has benefited from the displaced homemakers portion of the program.
June 16, 1979 - MPR’s reports on situation in western area of the Twin Cities after a large thunderstorm passed over the area. Olson describes downed trees, overturned boats, fires, and power outages in the west metro.
June 18, 1979 - Minnesota poet Joe Paddock reads Frogs, a raucous small-town happening in a narrative poem style. Frogs was written by a native of Southwest Minnesota.
June 19, 1979 - ‘Polka Power,’ a report and poetic response to the polka festival subculture in the Upper Midwest with local poets Joe and Nancy Paddock.
June 20, 1979 - MPR’s Tom Meersman gives an audio assesment of the damage in south Minneapolis after a severe storm went throught the area on June 19th. Meersman describes broken glass and downed trees.
