November 8, 1974 - MPR’s Dick Daly reports a hearing on lake water use held in Duluth. All the Great Lakes have had too much water in recent years and high water and strong winds have eroded shorelines and caused flooding. Lake Superior water levels are held artificially high by the IJC, a US joint commission with Canada.
November 9, 1974 - Minnesota Secretary of State Arlen Erdahl, a Republican and former Minnesota state representative, discusses recent shifts in power in state legislature, resulting in a Democratic majority. Erdahl outlines what Republicans need to do to return to prominence.

November 21, 1974 - Margaret Chase Smith, Republican senator from Maine from 1949 to 1972, at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for series of lectures and meetings. Smith recalled the six presidents during her Congressional career.
November 22, 1974 - The Minnesota Soil Association promotes low-energy/organic farming. Energy shortage may influence farmers to take organic farming more seriously.
November 29, 1974 - MPR’s Gary Eichten reports on how layoffs are bringing about charges of sexual and racial discrimination. Civil rights group explain that laying off employees with least seniority mean laying of minorities and women.
November 29, 1974 - Clyde Bellecourt has been invited to participate in an international meeting of the World Council of Churches at Montreux, Switzerland, the first WCC to invite representation by Native Americans. He says the principal goal is to elicit support for American Indian treaty rights. Bellecourt also looks to ask for financial support.
December 15, 1974 - MPR’s Greg Barron produces “In Search of a Better Life,” a documentary which explores the origin, life and challenges of Mexican American community in Minnesota. The community of St. Paul’s West Side neighborhood is highlighted.
