May 8, 1993 - A reading from Native American author Louise Erdrich’s The Blue Jay's Dance: A Birth Year. The book is a meditation on the experience of motherhood and the first nonfiction work by Erdrich.
June 11, 1993 - Mainstreet Radio’s Leif Enger reports on Project Grow, a program that supplies seeds and fertilizer to Leech Lake Reservation families willing to take on the discipline, patience, and stoop labor of gardening.
July 9, 1993 - MPR’s Liz Hannon interviews author Jim Northrup about his book, Walking the Rez Road. Northup also speaks about oral tradition and the Vietnam War.
July 26, 1993 - Mainstreet Radio’s Catherine Winter reports on the challenging year of rice harvesting, due to a season of flooding. The impact on the wild rice crops greatly affect some in the northern Minnesota communities, such as those of the Leech Lake Band of Chippewa, that use harvesting as a source of income and food.
August 28, 1993 - Mainstreet Radio’s Leif Enger profiles new Nay Ah Shing School on the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation. Thanks in part to casino era revenue funding, the new school will provide K-12 classes, as well as enhanced cultural curriculum and Native American centric elements.

October 12, 1993 - MPR’s Euen Kerr talks with Native American poet Jamison Mahto about poetry and cultural misconceptions. Mahto reads "The Blue Apache" from his book “Blues For Franklin Avenue: A Collection of Poetry.”
