October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Mark Zdechlik reports on the Minnesota DFL's Central Committee, as it convenes a special meeting this evening where hundreds of DFL activists are expected to name former Vice President Walter Mondale as the party's new US Senate candidate. The meeting will take place at the Historic State Theater in downtown Minneapolis.
October 30, 2002 - Governor Ventura says he was so upset by the partisan tone of last night's public eulogies for Paul Wellstone that he may appoint an independent to fill Wellstone's seat. Twenty-thousand people showed up at Williams Arena for a memorial service for Wellstone, his wife and daughter and three other campaign staffers, who died in a plane crash last Friday. Republican Party officials and many others also said they were upset that the service turned political. Minnesota Public Radio's Tom Scheck reports...
October 30, 2002 - Of the thousands of people who attended last's night's memorial service for Senator Paul Wellstone, many knew him only from reading about him or seeing him on television. But many others had met Paul Wellstone personally, and almost everyone had a story to tell . Minnesota Public Radio's Mary Losure talked to people in the crowd, and filed this report.

October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Republican candidate Norm Coleman for U.S. Senate. While DFL'ers select a new candidate this evening, Republican Norm Coleman's campaign plane has just left St. Paul's Holman airfield for a fly around the state. Coleman's campaign swing, that includes International Falls, Thief River Falls and stops in Southern Minnesota. This comes as a new poll from the Star Tribune shows him behind Mondale by eight points.

November 1, 2002 - Vice-President Dick Cheney campaigned near Duluth for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Norm Coleman. Coleman has been canvassing areas outside of the metro area since Wednesday when he relaunched his campaign following the death of U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone.
November 4, 2002 - In a historic campaign, the one week U.S. Senate campaign between Walter Mondale and Norm Coleman culminate with an election-eve debate at the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
November 6, 2002 - Minnesota Governor-Elect Tim Pawlenty met with reporters today and talked with outgoing Governor Jesse Ventura about making the transition into office. Pawlenty says the election means Republican ideals will have a much smoother time at the Capitol than in the past. Minnesota Public Radio's Art Hughes reports.
