December 2, 1996 - Some GOP gubernatorial hopefuls are objecting to an effort by party leaders who want DFL St. Paul Mayor Norm Coleman to switch parties and run for governor as a Republican. Former congressman Vin Weber, who has consulted with Coleman about changing parties says he's had no specific discussions with Coleman about the state's top office.
