July 22, 1985 - MPR’s Deborah Fisher reports on continued controversy of Minneapolis Police Department’s decoy unit. Sal Saran Scott, was shot in the face at point blank range after being arrested by a Minneapolis police officer who was a member of the controversial decoy unit, leading to hearing by Civil Rights Commission. The shooting was considered accidental and was the second such "accident" by the same officer.

July 27, 1985 - Weekend’s Paula Drake interviews Clarence Young, who spent time at the Split Rock Lighthouse in the early 1900s. His father, Orren "Pete" Young, was the lighthouse's first head keeper from 1910 to 1928. Clarence recalls the experience of travel to lighthouse, playing there as a child, and weather along Lake Superior.

August 1, 1985 - MPR’s Stephen Smith takes a nature walk with author and journalist Paul Gruchow at Blue Mounds State Park in southwestern, Minnesota. Gruchow writes about the prairie and is a frequent visitor to the park.
