Morning Edition presents music segment of the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus with a song from their new choral opera "Two Boys Kissing" which premieres at the Ted Mann Concert Hall in Minneapolis.
Composer Joshua Shank created the music based on the 2013 best-selling novel by David Levithan. It was inspired by the true story of two teenage boys who respond to a hate crime by attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest kiss. The action is narrated by a Greek chorus of gay men who lost their lives during the AIDS crisis.
