The Penumbra Theatre Company in St. Paul kicked off its 30th anniversary season by announcing a multi-year August Wilson project.

Wilson, who died in 2005, wrote a ten-play cycle that documents African American life over the course of the 20th century. Wilson developed several plays at Penumbra, where he collaborated during the 1980s with Artistic Director Lou Bellamy.
