The Minnesota Twins open a four-game homestand against the Kansas City Royals tonight. The Twins are now 15 games ahead of the second-place White Sox in the A-L Central after beating Chicago 6 to nothing last night at the Metrodome. Eric Milton struck out eleven in that game for his 13th win this year. This is the third consecutive season that Milton has won at least 13 games for the Twins. Back in 1988, Former Twins pitcher Frank Viola set the team record of four consecutive seasons with at least 13 wins. St. Paul Pioneer Press sports reporter Gordon Wittenmeyer says Milton has been especially strong since the middle of June, but he's always been a dominant player.
