Famed classical pianist Fou Ts'ong visits the Minnesota Public Radio studios to play and to talk to MPR Classical Music Host Tom Crann. Fou Ts'ong discusses his touring program, entitled "Chinese Poetry, Western Music," and the connection between music and words in his work.
Fou Ts'ong was the son of a famous scholar who translated the great works of French literature and English philosophy into Chinese. Personal tragedy struck in the sixties when Fou Ts'ong lost both his parents in the turmoil of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. By that time, he'd moved to London and became internationally known for his interpretation of Chopin.
