MPR’s Tim Pugmire reports on the debate over potential removal of the children’s book series “Goosebumps” in some Minnesota school libraries, including titles such as “The Horror at Camp Jellyjam.” The Goosebumps debate began last Spring at Johnsville Elementary School in Blaine.
Children in a suburban Twin Cities school district are standing up for their "Goosebumps," but some parents in the Anoka-Hennepin district say the popular series of paperbacks are too violent, too scary and should be removed from school libraries, with a woman from Blaine leading the effort. A committee of parents, teachers and school administrators listened to both sides of the "Goosebumps" debate during a hearing in Coon Rapids.
