SPEAKER 1: It's to demonstrate my concerns for the fact that, many people here, poor Indian people who have been indicted out of this grand jury are being held on excessive bonds. And when we can see that, on the other end in Washington DC in relationship to Watergate and people who have the means to post bonds are released without any bond considerations.
I'm fasting to demonstrate against that double standard of justice. The same thing that the American Indian Movement is opposing in this country is a double standard of justice. And I'm fasting to bring hopefully national and international attention into this gross double standard of justice.
SPEAKER 2: Do you have any idea at this point how long that fast will last?
SPEAKER 1: Well, I've indicated that I would continue fasting until those people who are incarcerated here at the present time are released. And of course, also to object and to demonstrate against the oppressive incarceration of Indian people. So I will be fasting until all those people now arrested are released on bond.
