July 18, 2003 - Tomorrow , the Minnesota National Guard will hold a ceremony marking the largest overseas troop deployment the guard has seen since World War Two. Two thousand National Guard troops from the Twin Cities, Moorehead and Duluth are about to begin an eight-month mission in Bosnia. The National Guard says the deployment will be tough on the soldiers and their families. But they also realize it's a burden on employers. Mainstreet Radio's Tim Post reports.
July 2, 2003 - In the wake of the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic church, diocese across the country have set up policy review boards. Two boards in central Minnesota are beginning their work, one at St. John's Abbey and the other at the St. Cloud Diocese. Their purpose is to monitor the church's policies and response to sexual abuse. Church officials say the boards have been thoughtfully developed. They say many have a mix of non-Catholic as well as Catholic members, abuse victims and law enforcement officials. But victims' rights groups are less optimistic. They doubt the review boards will have the power to make any real change in church policy. Mainstreet Radio's Tim Post has more in this report.

June 20, 2003 - City officials from across Minnesota say they're confused by the state's new gun law. They say it's full of inconsistencies. And they worry that will compromise their ability to make it work. The new law was the topic of plenty of discussion at this week's League of Minnesota Cities conference in St. Cloud.
