September 2, 2008 - College is a job for student, but many also have other part-time or full-time jobs to help pay for tuition. With funding for students their colleges are scarce in difficult financial economies, these side jobs become even more important for keeping students in college.

August 3, 2007 - Workers from the Minnesota Department of Transportation spent the day (FRIDAY) inspecting three bridges across the region. Governor Pawlenty ordered the immediate inspection of bridges at St. Cloud, Sandstone and Osceola, Wisconsin because they're similar in construction to the collapsed 35-W bridge. MnDOT's Cathy Clark says inspectors are looking for cracks that might weaken the bridges. She says they're also using high tech equipment to determine the strengh of the bridges from the inside.

August 2, 2007 - The I-35 bridge collapse in Minneapolis has people across the state wondering about the condition of the bridges they drive on every day. Transportation officials across the state say they work hard to ensure Minnesota bridges are safe. But some *county engineers* say the state is falling behind in repairing and replacing old bridges, many that date back to the 1930's. Minnesota Public Radio's Tim Post reports.
April 19, 2007 - The arrest of 49 people in Willmar last week is the latest move in a nationwide crack down on illegal immigrants. Officials say nearly half of those in custody had previous criminal convictions or had been ordered in the past to leave the country. The rest were arrested because they were in the country illegally. Immigrants have been on edge since 200 illegal workers were arrested last December at the Swift and Company meat packing plant in Worthington. But some say the arrests in Willmar represent a more aggressive approach to dealing with illegal immigration. Minnesota Public Radio's Tim Post reports.

April 13, 2007 - After serveral immigration raids in and around Wilmar, immigrants in the town are worried. Dozens of immigrants have been deported in the last few months, and immigrants in Wilmar are fearing for their own well-being.
