November 27, 2001 - Camp Ripley in north central Minnesota was built in the 1930's to train Minnesota National Guard troops for war. 70 years later, Camp Ripley is considered one of the premiere Guard facilities in the country. November 27, 2001 - Mainstreet Radio’s Tim Post spent the morning with his neighbors, shoveling more than a foot of heavy, wet snow. A powerful winter storm buried central and western Minnesota with as much as 30 inches of snow. The heaviest band of snow stretched from Willmar to St. Cloud.
October 8, 2001 - Central Minnesota supporters of the proposed Northstar Commuter rail line fear funding changes will radically curtail the project. Officials with MnDOT say they are approaching the federal government differently for money to pay for the project, but their plan is still to provide commuter rail service from downtown Minneapolis to the St. Cloud area. October 2, 2001 - FOR TUESDAY MORNING 10/2 Minnesota farmers are facing the lowest prices they've ever seen on the lamb and wool market. Sheep ranchers have dealt with low prices in the wool market for more than 5 years, but this summer the bottom dropped out of the meat market as well. Some sheep producers say they want the Government to investigate low lamb prices. They also hope for a subsidy to prop up the wool prices when Congress discusses the new Farm Bill this fall. September 19, 2001 - Mesaba Airlines is cutting flights to many of Minnesota's rural airports. The company says it's part of Northwest Airlines plan to reduce service by 20 percent, following last week's terrorist attacks. For many customers it's an inconvenience, but for some of the state's smallest airports, it's potentially crippling blow. Minnesota Public Radio's Tim Post reports. {

August 14, 2001 - Mainstreet Public Radio's Tim Post reports on the “AVM Runestone,” a new stone find in Kensington. Members of the Kensington Runestone Research Team found a stone with what some say are runic carvings on its surface. The stone was found near where the original Kensington Runestone was unearthed over one hundred years ago.
