March 18, 1992 - Shri Abid Hussain, India’s ambassador to the United States, speaking at Minnesota Meeting. Hussain’s address was on the topic of India trade and investment. Following speech, Hussain answered audience questions. Orville Freeman, former Minnesota governor introduces Hussain. Minnesota Meeting is a non-profit corporation which hosts a wide range of public speakers. It is managed by the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
January 28, 1988 - Midday presents the MPR documentary “The Politics of Joy: A Radio Remembrance of Hubert Humphrey.” MPR’s Mark Heistad reflects on political life and impact of Hubert H. Humphrey in both Minnesota and the nation.
July 5, 1984 - Orville Freeman, former Minnesota governor and secretary of agriculture, speaking at "The Future of the North American Grainery" conference, sponsored by the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. Freeman outlines his ideas for a new U.S. farm policy. Freeman served three terms as governor of Minnesota from 1955 to 1961. In 1961 he was appointed Secretary of Agriculture and held that office through the Kennedy and Johnson administrations until 1969.
