July 9, 2003 - An Evangelical Lutheran Bishop says the prayers of people throughout the nation were answered following today's release of a St. Paul Hmong American pastor from a Lao jail. Authorities released Rev. Naw-Karl Mua and two journalists following intense diplomatic pressure by the French, Belgian and U.S. governments; and reportedly a payment of nearly $2500 from Mua's wife to Lao authorities.
November 7, 2002 - Minnesota Senator-elect Norm Coleman says he hopes to persuade interim Senator Dean Barkley to step down before the newly elected members of Congress are sworn in. On November 4th, 2002, Governor Ventura appointed Barkley to replace the late Senator Paul Wellstone who died in a plane crash two weeks ago. Coleman will follow Barkley after defeating former Vice President Walter Mondale in Tuesday's election.
November 6, 2002 - MPR's Mark Zdechlik reports on Republican Norm Coleman celebrating his election to the U.S. Senate. Coleman defeated former Vice President Walter Mondale, who entered the race less than a week prior, taking Senator Paul Wellstone's place on the ballot after Wellstone was killed in a plane crash.
November 1, 2002 - Vice-President Dick Cheney campaigned this afternoon near Duluth for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Norm Coleman. Coleman has been canvassing areas outside of the metro area since Wednesday when he relaunched his campaign following the death of Senator Paul Wellstone. His opponent, Walter Mondale, stepping in as Wellstone's replacement, took his campaign to southern Minnesota for two town hall meetings.
October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Republican candidate Norm Coleman for U.S. Senate. While DFL'ers select a new candidate this evening, Republican Norm Coleman's campaign plane has just left St. Paul's Holman airfield for a fly around the state. Coleman's campaign swing, that includes International Falls, Thief River Falls and stops in Southern Minnesota. This comes as a new poll from the Star Tribune shows him behind Mondale by eight points.

This is followed with excerpts of previous interviews with Mondale. Program also includes clips with the other candidates for U.S. Senate. Mondale is expected to be named the DFL Party's U.S. Senate candidate, after DFL Senator Paul Wellstone’s death 11 days before election day.

This follows the candidates flying around the state earlier, after getting party backing during the state convention. Gubernatorial candidate Tim Pawlenty says his campaign will focus on the three issues he terms "kids, roads and jobs."
