August 26, 1998 - MPR’s Michael Khoo reports on a movement known as Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, which is demonstrating the viability of local, small-scale farming. Members buy shares in a farm at the outset of the growing season and are then entitled to a portion of the weekly harvests.
August 13, 1998 - A coalition of community groups spearheaded by Honeywell, Inc., broke ground today on the new Portland Place project -- a housing redevelopment plan designed to create owner-occupied homes in Minneapolis' Phillips neighborhood. Honeywell hopes the effort will revitalize the area. Minnesota Public Radio's Michael Khoo reports. With shovels in hand, executives from Honeywell were joined by Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton and representatives from local community groups to break ground on the Portland Place project. The project is a joint venture between Honeywell and other community partners.
