Governor Tim Pawlenty announced today (THURSDAY) that he's recruited Clint Harris to leave the top job at the South Dakota Lottery and take the reins of Minnesota's operation. The Minnesota Lottery has been without a permanent head since former director George Andersen committed suicide last winter. The incoming Harris says he hopes to more than double the lottery's contributions to the state within the next two decades. Minnesota Public Radio's Michael Khoo has more.

August 19, 2004 - President George W. Bush is in Crawford, Texas, today, resting after a bus tour that took him through Wisconsin and Minnesota. The president made a campaign stop yesterday just across the St. Croix River in Hudson, Wisconsin, followed by a rally at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul. He repeated many of the campaign's familiar themes on the economy and the war in Iraq. But he also opened the dialogue slightly by inviting audience members to pepper him with questions.
June 4, 2004 - Governor Tim Pawlenty and legislative leaders say they've taken an important step forward toward calling a possible special session later this month. Lawmakers were unable to reach compromise earlier this year on a host of issues ranging from deficit-reduction to tougher public safety laws. Talk of a special session to resume their work, however, had been stalled as lawmakers disagreed over what items should be on making that an issue in a special session
