March 4, 1999 - Minneapolis based Best Buy Corporation today posted record sales of more than ten BILLION dollars last year. The numbers represent a more than 20 percent increase in sales over the previous year.
February 26, 1999 - Computer experts warn without precautions, the transition to the year two thousand could disrupt computer operations which could have a domino effect on the economy. Some estimates have big business globally spending as much as 500 BILLION dollars to prepare for Y2K. Now there are increasing efforts to help ensure small businesses without technology departments and budgets for consultants, are also protected.

February 16, 1999 - Thousands of Northwest Airlines ground workers are voting today on a tentative agreement that could resolve the contract dispute they've been working under since the fall of 1996. The same workers rejected the last tentative agreement their union leaders reached with management last summer.
February 10, 1999 - It's been two months since a Minneapolis Police van accelerated out of control into a crowd of Holidazzle parade watchers killing two people and injuring several others. Investigators found nothing wrong with the van. Minnesota Public Radio has learned tests conclusively showed the driver had NO alcohol in his blood at the time of the accident. Other tests apparantly found traces of medicine, but not enough to impair the police officer.
February 8, 1999 - The owners of Canterbury Park Race Track in Shakopee are trying to revive a plan for casino gambling. A year and a half ago lawmakers rejected a casino proposal that was linked to a new Twins stadium. This time backers are NOT talking about a stadium. Instead they say most of the revenue could be used for anything from reducing taxes to increasing spending on education. The governor says he's open to the idea.
February 3, 1999 - It will now likely be more than three months before the National Mediation Board decides whether to certify a vote by members of a Northwest Airlines union to join another union . The workers voted to leave the International Association of Machinsts for the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. The IAM complained Northwest and AMFA interfered with last fall's election. After an intital review, the National Mediation Board has decided to conduct a more thorough investigation into the allegations.
January 29, 1999 - A coalition of African American ministers and other community leaders today denounced Governor Jesse Ventura for failing to include any African Americans among his appointees. The group is demanding a meeting with the governor. But Governor Ventura is standing by his hiring decisions.
January 28, 1999 - One of Minnesota's largest industries is getting a boost from the new governor. Jesse Ventura's budget includes increasing the Office of Tourism's advertising budget by five MILLION dollars. The former wrestler and actor says Minnesota can exploit HIS entertainment background to make the state a worldwide vacation destination.
January 25, 1999 - With last week's release of a federal report indicating driver error was to blame in last December's Holidazzle accident, the focus is now turning to the city of Minneapolis 's potential liability. A police officer was behind the wheel of the van when it accelerated into a crowd injuring eleven people and killing two others.
