January 30, 2009 - Many collectors will tell you that books are works of art. Not just for their words, but as objects of art. Many artists at some point in their careers have made books. The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis is celebrating the book as an art form with it's exhibition "Text/Messages." It features books created by Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali and Kara Walker, among others.
January 7, 2009 - Minneapolis writer Dobby Gibson discusses his collection of poetry called "Skirmish." Gibson says it's a reference to the many small battles contained between the covers, including an ongoing battle between himself and his writing.

Many were started in the late 1960s and early 70s by members of the baby boomer generation. In the years since they've become an important part of the cultural scene and the local economy. Now, as those artists are approaching the traditional age of retirement, their organizations must decide whether to carry on without them, and if so, how.
July 31, 2008 - The 15th annual Minnesota Fringe Festival, the midwest's biggest performing arts festival, opens today. For the next ten days actors and dancers will perform in over 150 shows throughout Minneapolis. After fifteen years of performing in smaller theaters around the Twin Cities, the asian-american company is getting some welcome exposure in high-profile venues like the Ordway and the Guthrie.
